the perils of leisure: vol.2: weblog
Name: Paula Abilheira

Age: Undisclosed (Let's just say I'm old enough to know what's going on, and young enough to "be in the know").

Hair: Chestnut Brown with lovely blond AND red highlights - oh yeah!

Eyes: Brown. Nothing too exciting there.

Height: 5' 3" (and that "oh-so-precious" quarter)

Occupation: Currently unemployed - and enjoying it.

Desired Occupation: To work at home and at whim...

Marital Status: Single, but VERY attached. :-)

Favorite Color: Blue

Favorite CD: Throwing Muses' Self-titled with The Pixies' Doolittle a very close second. Plus, they sort of go together - don't you think?

Favorite Movie: Used to be "The Big Chill" for goofy sentimental reasons. Now, it's "Office Space" for obvious reasons.

Favorite Book: Hmmmm.....there are so many good ones, it's really hard to pick. But "The Bone People," by Keri Hulme stands out as the favorite at the moment. I read it twice and each time couldn't put it down.

Favorite Comic: The Sandman Series because it was, really, my first. At the moment, however, it's really a toss-up between The Authority and The Invisibles for the mainstream stuff, and, Chris Ware's Jimmy Corrigan for the alternative stuff.

Other Stuff You Really Should Know:

I'm very moody, opinionated and often don't do things I should because "I don't feel like it." I'm very much a person who's driven by impulse and the "mood of the moment." If you wake me up unexpectedly, I get pretty cranky - it's almost a reflex. I'm definitely NOT a morning person, as evidenced by my constant tendency to be late for things that require an early start. I have this weird notion that people function better if they go with their own flow. I "live in my head," and sometimes can be neglectful of other things which require attention - especially things I'm not particularly fond of, like say, balancing my checkbook, or cleaning the apartment. I'd rather read, or work on whatever project I've got going at the moment. I also have been known to fall asleep on the couch, fully upright, with a cookie dangling from my mouth - it's very attractive.

I'm also a complete obsessive compulsive germ freak. I have an intense fear of anything that could potentially cause gastro-intestinal distress. The bathroom is my enemy! Down with those germy faucet handles!

Actually, I obsess and analyse everything. I guess that's why I'm good at what I do. I think in the business realm it's called "detail-oriented." In the real world it's just - NUTS!

I'm also quite nice. I'll go out of my way for a friend. I listen well when someone is distressed. I remember important events. I have a special empathy for all creatures, furry and not so furry. I'm good with directions, troubleshooting and organization (although you wouldn't know it from the state of the apartment at the moment). I'm funny and loyal, just like my dog. I'm generous with any resources I may come into, and I "play well with others."

There's more, but I'm tired and don't feel like typing anymore.
